چکیده
A vibration-damping steel panel is used for lightweight vehicles to block any noise subjected the passenger cabin replacing heavy fiber-based insulators. Conventional weld joining methods often encounter problems due presence of viscoelastic compounds reducing joint quality and making process unproductive. In this work, we present experimental results that show self-piercing riveting (SPR) can be produce high-quality joints between (i) commonly alloy (SPFC590DP), (ii) carbon-fiber-reinforced-plastic (CFRP) panels. Various die shapes are investigate resulting interlock width bottom thickness tensile shear load tests were performed evaluate strength. The possible all dye types configurations, in study, producing up 6.2 kN load. High-quality also with CFRP 4.0 kN, however, acceptable formed only when panels on top during severe cracking.

Fatigue strength evaluation of self-piercing riveted cold rolled steel joints under mixed mode loading conditions
Fatigue strength of cross-shaped specimens of SPR joints made of SPCC was evaluated at load angles of 0°, 45°, and 90°. For the static strength at load angles of 0°, 45°, and 90°, the maximum loads were determined to be 4890N, 1969N, and 1611N, respectively. Regarding for the relationship between the load amplitude and the number of cycles (Nf), the results were 014 . 0 3 . 2209 − = f amp N P ,...

متن کاملFretting wear in self-piercing riveted aluminium alloy sheet
Fretting wear in aluminium alloy AA5754 joined by self-pierce riveting (SPR), a relatively new fastening technique increasingly used in vehicle structures, has been investigated in this paper. Surface damages have been induced when a joint experienced a sinusoidal cyclic tension-tension load. Various degradation zones have been characterised in the contact surfaces between the aluminium sheets,...
متن کاملVibration Damping of High-Chromium Ferromagnetic Steel
The aim of the present work is to study the effect of annealing on the vibration damping capacity of high-chromium (16%) ferromagnetic steel. The alloys were prepared from raw materials of 99.9% purity melted in a high frequency induction furnace under high vacuum. The samples were heat-treated in vacuum at various temperatures (800 to 1200oC) for 1 hour followed by slow cooling (120oC/h). The ...
متن کاملRecent development in finite element analysis of self-piercing riveted joints
Self-piercing riveting (SPR) is a high-speed mechanical fastening technique which is suitable for point-joining advanced lightweight sheet materials that are dissimilar, coated, and hard to weld. Major advances have been made in recent years in SPR technique. Latest literature relating to finite element analysis (FEA) of SPR joints is reviewed in this paper. The recent development in FEA of SPR...
